RF Microneedling Aftercare Instructions
To ensure optimal results from your microneedling treatment, it’s essential to follow these guidelines carefully. Microneedling creates micro-wounds in the skin to stimulate the healing process. As a result, you may experience redness, swelling, burning, mild bruising, and skin sensitivity immediately after your treatment. These effects are normal and typically subside within a few hours after treatment, but may take up to 48-72 hours, although skin peeling and flaking may continue for 3-7 days post-treatment. Here’s how to care for your skin to support its healing process and achieve the best possible outcome:
Step-by-Step Aftercare
-
CLEAN: Use a mild cleanser and warm water to gently cleanse and dry the treated area for 7 days. Always ensure your hands are clean when touching the treated area, and avoid using Clarisonic or other electric cleansing brushes for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
-
HYDRATE: Immediately after microneedling, your skin may feel drier than usual. Hyaluronic Acid is ideal for hydrating and restoring your skin’s balance.
-
HEAL: From day 1-7 post-treatment, follow a soothing skincare routine to calm and reduce irritation. Hyaluronic acid helps boost collagen and elastin production for enhanced healing.
-
MAKEUP: Avoid applying makeup for 48-72 hours after treatment. Use clean makeup tools and brushes thereafter.
-
PROTECT: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 or higher sunscreen to your skin 24-48 hours post-treatment and continue daily thereafter. Chemical-free sunscreens are recommended to protect against sun damage and premature aging.
-
STIMULATE: From day 7-28, as your skin continues to regenerate, Ceramides and Peptides can maximize the effects of microneedling by stimulating cell renewal, reinforcing the skin barrier, and improving texture and elasticity.
